Bye Bye Bertie
If I thought George Bush was capable of self-reflection or humorous irony, I would have raised an eyebrow over his whining that 'Berto was "unfairly" hounded out of his job for political reasons. As it is, I think this comment from a "former senior national security official who served in the Bush administration" says it all:
(T)he battle over Guantanamo still rages inside -- and the next AG may determine the character and conduct of the Bush administration on these kinds of issues. But getting rid of Gonzales creates a real opportunity for those with souls.
